What's New Morris Plains Museum

New 1970s "NewsBee" Exhibit Opens July 31, 2010: The latest exhibit at the Museum takes you on a trip through the 1970’s via a display of pictures that were published in the “NewsBee.” Visit the Museum and see what was happening forty years ago!

Museum Awards Helen H. Schnack Scholarship: Helen Schnack was a member of the Morris Plains Museum. Because of her commitment to the Museum as well as to education, we were delighted to award a scholarship in her name. The qualifications for the scholarship are: resident of Morris Plains, academic excellence, involvement in extracurricular activities, and a genuine interest in history. The Morris Plains Museum Association congratulates Tara Lopez, who won the scholarship, and wishes her luck in her future college endeavors. A reception was held for Tara and her family at the Museum on Sunday, July 27, 2010. Read more...

Museum Increases its Visibility and Capacity: We are pleased to announce that the Morris Plains Museum has recently undergone a variety of upgrades. We now have new museum-friendly storage units, a project workstation in our office, and a colorful, interior reception area. With the help of a skilled team of Ramapo College students (Glen Rosenthal, Molly Stern, Courtney Lang, Jessica Feldman, Melissa Feldman, Samantha DeAngelis, Jacob Stephens, and James Howell) and their professor (Bonnie Blake), who won the Design Derby contest sponsored by the Art Directors Club of NJ, we now have a new logo which is featured on a striking poster and brochure the team designed for us as well as on our new web site. All of these upgrades are intended to build a better Museum inside and out.
